Xổ số thứ tư hàng tuầnThe rhinology unit covers all aspects of nose and sinus disease including allergy, infection, inflammatory conditions and tumours. These clinics are dedicated to nose and sinuses problems and are lead by Professor Lund. These clinics offer a unique spectrum of investigations and the widest range of medical and surgical treatments in the UK.
Xổ số thứ tư hàng tuầnProfessor Lund, who is the only professor of rhinology in the UK, was one of the first people to introduce endoscopic sinus surgery to this country and has extended its use from treatment of sinus infection and nasal polyps to a wide range of other conditions, including repair of the skull base for leakage of cerebrospinal fluid, decompression of the eye in patients with thyroid eye disease and removal of a wide range of lesions and tumours including cancers.
This treatment is available in only a few centres worldwide. The development of mid-facial degloving and craniofacial resection at the Royal National ENT and Eastman Dental Hospitals has revolutionised the treatment of these patients, doubling the survival in many cases and minimising the side effects of radical surgery in the mid face.
In addition, patients with an inherited condition, hereditary haemorrhagic telangiectasia, which causes severe nose bleeds, are also sent from all over the UK for treatment with a range of techniques developed in the hospital, including laser surgery.
Xổ số thứ tư hàng tuầnProfessor Lund also runs a combined clinic with her allergy colleagues.
